When our teeth have a cavity large enough that it’s affecting more than just a pinpoint spot on our tooth, a crown is recommended. So what a crown does is it protects the entirety of the tooth. So you may hear some people call it a cap, but it’s a top that goes over the tooth and protects the tooth from eating and other, you know, bacteria that can get around the tooth. So with crowns, we’re trying to restore the tooth back to its full functionality before it was being affected by a cavity or a cracked tooth even.
At the office, we have the capabilities to do crowns in one appointment. You may notice that our appointments last a little bit longer for a crown, but you don’t have to come back to us or wear a temporary that tend to come off. So we’re very happy to be able to provide that service to you. Even some bridges, we can do in the same appointment. Those are a little more case by case, but as long as we can, we’re happy to provide that service to you.
Smile Confidently Again With a Crown or Bridge
When you partner with Volner Family Dental for your smile care, you’re teaming up with a winner. We’ll do all we can to ensure your experience with us is pleasant. To help you stay calm and relaxed during your treatment, you’ll have a choice of three sedation options if you want.
We use some of the latest technology to help you get your smile back. Your dentist can make you a new crown while you wait using the CAD/CAM capabilities of our CEREC system. You won’t need to schedule a return trip to have your crown placed. We can do it all in one visit!
We can also create a smile model for you using our 3-D printer. When you “try it on,” you’ll get a great idea of what your new smile will look like.
Here are some ways we use crowns and bridges for dental repairs:
- Crown for Tooth Repair – We can place a crown over your damaged or diseased tooth to strengthen and protect it.
- Standard Fixed Bridge – Your bridge will fill in the gap in your smile, anchoring on either end to your other teeth.
- Implant-Supported Crown – You can replace a missing tooth with a dental implant-crown combination.
- Implant-Supported Bridge – We can secure your bridge using two or more implants that will make it easier to bite and chew. Unlike a standard bridge, an implant bridge will protect you from bone loss in your jaw.
